CORRESPONDANCE

Rick received an email from Bill & Bonnie Webb who own The Inn on Golden Pond.  They are located 20 minutes north of Weirs Beach (Laconia).  They are offering club members a 10% discount off their normal rate for the first weekend of the rally and 15% off for mid week nights.  www.innongondenpond.com

John R. reported that 6 bikes will be needed to lead the divisions at the Hudson Valley Fire Fighters Parade in Lake George on 06/19/10.

Several event and ride flyers were read.  These have all been added to the Ride/Event List (attached).

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:  Rick thanked everyone who participated in last month’s discussion regarding the Poker Run.  It was a little crazy but it was good to have the membership voicing their opinions and feedback.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Board of Directors:    John R. thanked everyone who participated in the Patriot Ride and the Roamer’s Run.

John R. stated that there has been some issues with other chapters who do not meet the requirements for membership.  In order to be an Active member you must be an active or retired firefighter and have a valid motorcycle license.

AMA:   No Report

Quartermaster:    No Report

Audit Committee:   No Report

Toy Run Committee:   No Report

Ride Committee:   Steve spoke regarding the cancelation of the Poker Run for next weekend.  He explained the reasoning behind the Board of Director’s decision.  John R. stated that we cannot go into an event worrying about loosing money.  It was further discussed that the membership seemed to be in favor of putting our time and effort into the Toy Run.  The Poker Run was being attempted as Lori stated she could no longer do a coin drop. But, the membership was originally under the impression that Lori was helping with the Poker Run but it turned into us doing the whole event.  Also, a Little League team was seen doing a coin drop at the same intersection that Lori used.  John R. s going to look into this.  It was then stated that if Saratoga Springs will not let us do a coin drop there, why don’t  we move it to Ballston Spa.

Investigative Committee:  Application for Active Membership:  Darren Lesson was in attendance to be voted on.  A Motion to accept Darren into membership as an Active member was made by Bill W., seconded by Dean C.   Motion carried.  Welcome Darren!

Event Committee:  Americade Dinner on 06/10/10 at Lake George Fire House. Anyone who can help should come around noon.  We generally serve at 3:00 – 4:00 PM.  There will be other chapters of Red Knights there selling their items and Ed L. will have our t-shirts, etc. for sale as well.  We will have our monthly meeting following the clean up, about 6:00 PM.

John G. announced that Fish Creek Rod & Gun Club will be having their Poker Run on 08/14/10 with a Pig Roast.  He will have more details.
